On Saturday, March 25, the Hendrick Hudson community will have the opportunity to come together for a first-hand look at the many STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities and projects taking place in classrooms all across the district.
Nearly 20 volunteers from the community presented at Furnace Woods’ first ever STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) Career Day. The event was designed to expose younger students to careers that involve STEAM skills, and it certainly delivered!
HHHS students from Alan Zollner’s Physical Science class and Deborah Levy’s ENL/Living Environment class enjoyed a field trip to the American Museum of Natural History in New York City on March 15. The trip was made possible by a grant from the Hendrick Hudson Community Educational Foundation.

Join the district's mental health team and CUCARD Westchester (Columbia University Center for Anxiety Rleated Disorders) for two informative presentations on teen mental health issues in the academic setting.
Hendrick Hudson High School senior Sarah Mickelsen is developing a unique understanding of her surroundings as a student in PNW BOCES’ Urban Forestry program. She has also been taught Horizontal Directional Drilling, learning how to bury new utilities efficiently, and is also enrolled in the Underground Utility Field Technician course, which teaches students how to safely install new utilities.
Hendrick Hudson High School has announced its Honor Roll and High Honor Roll for the second marking period.
With the guidance of both ENL teacher Gretchen Ward and social worker Stefanie Westrick, Blue Mountain Middle School’s eighth-grade English Language Learners (ELLs) have been celebrating culture, exploring similarities and differences in traditions, and unpacking ideas related to diversity as the school moves towards embracing a truly inclusive climate.
Blue Mountain Middle School art teachers Logan Krause and Paul Gioacchini recently participated in a Zoom interview hosted by the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center, as part of its “Live from Model Schools” series. The teachers discussed the many ways they infuse technology into their arts instruction and empower students with the technical skills that allow them to choose their own creative paths.

Donning protective eyewear and wielding a drill, high school English teacher Juliana Maye was channeling her inner carpenter. Surrounded by members of the school’s Reading club and Literary Magazine club, Maye, an advisor to both, was helping assemble a “Little Free Library.” The wooden, free-standing cupboard will ultimately be placed on the high school’s grounds to promote reading in the community.
