Students are learning new sight words in class every few days. We do several activities throughout the week to help reinforce the writing and reading of these words.
Words to Practice
The following is a partial list of “popcorn” or sight words that your child will be practicing throughout the year. Sight words, often also called high frequency sight words, are commonly used words that young children are encouraged to memorize as a whole by sight, so that they can automatically recognize these words in print without having to use any strategies to decode.
