Ms. Walters

Welcome!

I am one of the Second Grade General Education Teachers at Frank G. Lindsey School. This is my 8th year teaching, and my 3rd in this district.

I received my B.A. of Science in Education in Early Childhood Education from the University of Delaware (B-2), and my M.S. in Literacy from Long Island University (B-6). For the past 5 years I have worked for the New York Department of Education, and am honored to be returning "home."I am an alumni of Frank G. Lindsey, Blue Mountain Middle School, and Hendrick Hudson High School, and lived in Montrose for 26 years before moving away to work in the city.

My personal philosophy is simple, "Children are like snowflakes - no two are the same." It's this idea that is the driving force behind creating and implementing  engaging, creative, and hands-on instruction that allows every student's needs to be met where they are. From there, it's important that my students are appropriately challenged to become their best selves in and outside of the classroom. My goal is for my students to feel empowered by their learning, and be active participants in their classroom and community as they take part in their growth and progress.
