Instructional Technology

  • The Technology Department of the Hendrick Hudson School District exists to meet the needs of our staff and students. We strive to implement and manage technology systems that are stable, reliable and efficient.

    While school buildings are closed, our virtual offices are not.  We strive to support our staff, students, and families with digital tools that can help enhance and support learning.  My technology team and I will be monitoring the help desk to support teachers as they embark on new educational experiences.  We are also here to support students and families with accessing student email, logging in to applications, and more.  

    If you or your child have access to a mobile device, an ipad, a tablet, a chromebook, or a computer, then they can stay connected.  For those who may have not internet service, please see the Internet Provider link for resources to request it for your home.  

    The teachers and staff of Hen Hud have been amazing these past few days, sharing and collaborating with each other.  Much of the digital learning that will be taking place, is happening because of our teachers' creativity and ingenuity.  Each school building has a few teachers designated as "Tech Coaches".  These Tech Coaches are not only preparing their own online learning, but they are supporting their colleauges as best as they can.  Whether it is hosting a virtual lesson on Google Classroom or modeling for others how to run a video conference, they are sharing and collaborating resources and tools that you will see reflected in the work your child will be particiating in.  

    As a Google school district, we rely heavily on the Google Suite for Education.  This includes Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites, Classroom, and even Google Meet and Google Chat.  However, the minimum you or your child needs is access to their email and/or their teacher's webiste.  You can find teacher websites and contact information on the home page under Staff Directory.  

    Though many students are familiar with the Google platform, we have provided some "How To" guides for parents and students regarding how to log in using their email, Clever, and a parents guide to using Google Classroom.

    Our public library has always been an amazing parnter in our school system and they, as well as our own librarians. Please check out the Library Digital Resources link for more details. 

    Your child's teacher and principal will be your main point of contact with questions, but please know that we are working hard to support them in their efforts to provide meangingful and engaging learning opportunities for your students.
