During the Westchester County Cheerleading Competition at the Westchester County Center in White Plains on January 22, Hen Hud senior Amanda Siegel was presented with the Annette Hronich Scholarship. This unique scholarship is awarded based on academics, community service and cheerleading ability.
Each year, varsity coaches in Westchester can nominate one their seniors for the scholarship. Once nominated, student athletes then submit an essay, transcript and video demonstrating cheering ability. Applicants also undergo a group interview.
“When deciding who to pick for this year’s nomination, Amanda came right to my mind,” said head coach Nicole Selvaggi-Landry. “Amanda is one of our co-captains, and she and leads the team with pride, confidence and true determination. We, as a coaching staff and program, are so proud of her being one of the 2020 scholarship recipients.”
